Our teams have taken part in building thousands of kilometres of roads and motorways, creating dozens of railway lines - from metropolitan networks to high speed links - and constructing large-scale facilities for the environment (water and waste treatment plants, power stations, dams) and the leisure sector (sports stadiums).
EPR2
Eiffage Génie Civil and EDF have signed a contract worth over 4 billion euros for civil engineering work on the first two EPR2 reactors at Penly.
The civil engineering work will include the construction of each reactor vessel - a 70-meter-high, 50-meter-diameter dome - and the machine rooms. They also include the design-build construction of a six-storey, 15,000m2 floor area operations building. These works will require the synergy of several of the Group's areas of expertise.
SNCF " Villeneuve Demain " maintenance technicenter
Eiffage Génie Civil (leader), Eiffage Rail, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Eiffage Concessions, in a consortium with architects LA/BA, have won the global performance contract to rebuild the Transilien RER D and R line maintenance technicenter "Villeneuve Demain", located in Choisy-le-Roi, Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Valenton and Créteil.
Awarded by SNCF Voyageurs - Direction Transilien Agence du Grand Villeneuve, this project of over 35,000m2 of floor space (31 ha of total site area, including 16,500m2 to be built), to be carried out without interruption to operations, includes design, construction until 2027, then maintenance for 6 years of the building and rail installations (with three optional phases of 3 years each).
The project includes a significant environmental component (use of bio-sourced materials and low-carbon concrete) as well as an innovative digital approach (BIM design, private 5G network and integration of a centralized control station). On the social front, the consortium is committed to achieving a 6% integration rate, i.e. 162,000 hours, on the site. 10% of the contract is to be carried out by SMEs.
The Eiffage-led consortium will call on the expertise of other Group companies, such as Eiffage Route, Demcy (demolition) and Roland (earthworks), part of Eiffage Génie Civil, and Ferlioz, part of Eiffage Concessions.
Section E18-E39
Eiffage Génie Civil has won the design-build contract awarded by Statens Vegvesen, a company owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport, to build the new section of the E18-E39 urban freeway between Gartnerløkka and Kolsdalen in Kristiansand, Norway.
This is a 1.4 km 2x2-lane motorway in a dense urban area, including the construction of 12 structures, the reconstruction of 1.5 km of track, as well as the redevelopment of the existing ferry terminal and the installation of electrical and traffic engineering equipment.
The project has been designated a "pilot for the use of decarbonated energy" by the Norwegian government, and is aiming for a BREEAM rating of "Excellent".
A3 freeway
As part of a consortium, Eiffage Infra-Bau is widening a 76-kilometre section of the A3 freeway, 130 km from Frankfurt. The project, awarded to Eiffage as part of a public-private partnership in 2020, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
As the largest federal motorway project ever launched in Germany under a PPP, it involves considerable risk management. This aspect was successfully managed thanks to the mobilization of the Group's various areas of expertise and its ability to work on a European project with local constraints.
Line 15 East-1
Eiffage Génie Civil, in a consortium with eight architectural firms, has won the contract awarded by the Société des Grands Projets to design and build a section of the Grand Paris Express line 15 Est. The total contract value for the section between the Bobigny - Pablo Picasso and Champigny Centre stations is 2.54 billion euros.
The contract covers the excavation of 17 kilometers of tunnel, the construction of 15 service structures and 2 entrances, the laying of track and linear equipment, as well as the installation of high and low voltage systems, and electromechanical equipment (air conditioning/heating/ventilation/smoke extraction and fire safety) in stations, tunnels and service structures.

Rail Baltica
The ERB Rail joint venture, comprising Eiffage Génie Civil (leader and 50% stakeholder), Ferrovial subsidiary Budimex and Rizzani de Eccher, has won the civil engineering and track-laying contract for the 230-kilometer section of the new Rail Baltica high-speed rail line in Latvia. This line will integrate the Baltic States into the European rail network, creating a link between Helsinki (Finland) and Warsaw (Poland).
The future cross-border rail line will further the development of a single European market, thanks to the development of trade, facilitated by interoperability between different transport networks (land, river, air). It will also help to increase the share of more environmentally-friendly modes of transport.
Lyon-Turin line
Lyon-Turin: Europe's longest rail tunnel
SMP4 project: between 2014 and 2022, TELT has awarded the contract for the Saint-Martin-La-Porte reconnaissance structures to a consortium of six companies, including Eiffage Génie Civil. The Saint-Martin-La-Porte descent is the first structure to be built from the west. It provides access to the level of the future tunnel, 80 m below. At the foot of this downhill tunnel, the main work consists in building a 9 km reconnaissance gallery, excavated with a tunnel boring machine, in the direction of Italy, in order to study the often complex geology of the terrain, so as to industrialize excavation methods for this cross-border section.
C05 : In 2021, Eiffage Génie Civil is chosen as leader of the consortium responsible for building lot 1 of the tunnel on the French side, between Villarodin-Bourget/Modane and Italy, i.e. 22 km (out of a total of 57.5 km). This was an exceptional project from a technical point of view, in particular due to the use of two gripper tunnel boring machines to excavate the two base tunnels between the Modane safety site and the Clarea safety site, enabling the excavation of 2 x 18 km. These 10.43 m diameter tunnel boring machines are specially designed for hard rock. Another machine, known as the MSE or "Würm", will be used to create the final tunnel lining.The project also includes more than 15 km of excavation using traditional methods on the Modane safety site and its branches. The site's environmental performance is particularly noteworthy, with optimized transport and recycling of excavated material.
Highway E18 - Langangen to Rugtvedt - Norway
Eiffage Génie Civil has won several contracts awarded by Nye Veier, a company owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport, to build lots 1, 2 and 3 of the E18 freeway section linking the towns of Langangen and Rugtvedt.
- Lot 1 between Langangen and Lanner
- Lot 2 between Lanner and Kjørholt
- Lot 3 between Kjørholt and Rugtvedt
In all, the project involves the design-build of 18 kilometers of 2x2 lane motorway, including the excavation of two twin-tube tunnels: the Bjønnås tunnel (2.5 km) and the Grenland tunnel (5.1 km), and the construction of 3 engineering structures, including the cable-stayed Grenland bridge.
The project aims to achieve BREEAM "Excellent" certification.
Line C - Toulouse Metro
Eiffage Génie Civil (65%) and NGE (35%), in a consortium, have won lots 1 and 2 of line C of the Toulouse metro, contracts awarded by Tisséo Ingénierie.
- Lot 1: civil engineering work on tunnels, stations and structures between the Colomiers auxiliary structure, located 100 m from Colomiers Gare station, and the Laporte auxiliary structure. The work includes the design and construction of a 3.85 km tunnel, 3 stations and 4 ancillary structures in between stations. The contract also includes the construction of 3 shafts connecting the shafts to the tunnel.
- Batch 2: civil engineering work on the tunnels, stations and structures between the Laporte auxiliary structure and Raynal station. The work includes the design and construction of an 8.416 km tunnel, 6 stations, 5 auxiliary structures at intersections and a connecting tunnel to the maintenance site. The contract also includes the construction of 9 shafts connecting the shafts to the tunnel.
Located on Colombia's Atlantic coast, the Puerto Antioquia project is considered by the Colombian government as a priority project of national interest. It is strategically positioned on a major axis for international container transport, close to Medellin, one of the country's main economic zones.
The contract covers the design-build of a complete port infrastructure, including an offshore platform - for the simultaneous berthing of 5 container ships - linked by a 3.5-kilometer offshore viaduct and a 320-meter bridge to a 35-hectare fully-equipped land terminal with its own operating buildings and warehouses.
Grand Tortue/Ahmeyim gas terminal
Our teams lead the consortium appointed by BP to build the Grand Tortue/Ahmeyim gas terminal: offshore docking infrastructure protected by a breakwater dyke. The 1.2 km-long breakwater dyke comprises 21 concrete caissons each weighing 16,500 tonnes and manufactured by Eiffage in Dakar (Senegal). It will be installed at -33 m, 10 km off the coast. At the same time, the 2.5 million tonnes of quarry materials required for the underwater dyke foundations supporting the concrete caissons are being produced by Eiffage in Mauritania in a quarry opened specifically for the project.
A79 Motorway
The consortium comprising Eiffage’s companies (leader) and APRR is concession operator for the A79 motorway (Atlantic Centre-Europe Route) by ministerial decree published in the Journal Officiel on 15 March 2020. The 48-year concession contract covers the financing, design, development, extension, upgrading to motorway standards, operation, upkeep and maintenance of an 89-kilomentre stretch of the current trunk road (RN) 79 between Sazeret (Allier) and Digoin (Saône-et-Loire) which will become the A79.
The design works, extension to 2x2 lanes and upgrading to motorway standards are to be carried out by Eiffage Génie Civil’s teams. They will also mobilize Eiffage Route, Eiffage Métal and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes. Engineering consultancy services on the project will be provided by Egis.
HS2 HSL
The future High Speed 2 (HS2) high speed rail link built as part of a joint venture involving Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall will serve the north of the United Kingdom.
The project involves building lots C2 and C3 pf the future high-speed line. This stretch includes 15 viaducts, 5 km of cut and cover, 22 km of road realignment, 67 crossing structures and 30 million cubic metres of earthworks. The contract totals 2,269 billion pounds sterling (around 2.6 billion euros) including the initial design and development phase already completed.
Singrobo-Ahouaty hydro power development project
This design and build project involving Eiffage Génie Civil and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes is located on the Bandama River between Abidjan and Yamoussoukro. It includes building a riprap and concrete composite dam, flood spillway, plant to house the turbines, discharge channel, switchyard, line connecting the power station to the network, temporary facilities and access roads.
Grand Paris Express
Eiffage is taking part in developing the Paris region’s future public transport network via the Grand Paris project.
- Line 15 South - Lot T2B (in consortium) includes a 7.2 km tunnel and 3 stations : Saint-Maur - Créteil, Champigny Centre and Bry-Villiers-Champigny.
- Line 16 - Lot 1 includes 19 km of tunnel and 5 stations (Saint-Denis Pleyel, Stade de France, La Courneuve Six-Routes, Le Bourget RER and Le Blanc-Mesnil), 21 ancillary structures, track-laying and catenaries.
- Line 14 South (in consortium) includes a 4 km tunnel and 3 stations (Chevilly Trois-Communes, MIN Porte de Thiais and Pont de Rungis).
- Eole extension –RER Line E includes a 6,1 km tunnel, a station under the Porte Maillot, Bezons flyover (a kilometre-long engineering structure) and rail works (tracks and catenaries).
Ivry-Paris XIII waste treatment centre
Eiffage Génie Civil in consortium is handling civil engineering work on the Ivry-Paris XIII waste recovery centre. The facility’s global design-build-operation contract was awarded by the Syctom (syndicate in charge of waste treatment and recovery for 84 municipalities in the Paris region) to the P13 consortium led by Suez Environment subsidiary Sita, with whom Eiffage Génie Civil is co-contractor. The project aims to reduce the volume of waste incinerated on the site and improve energy efficiency compared to the current facility. It involves creating a new energy recovery unit with an annual 350,000 tonne capacity and digging an underground link between the plant and Marcel-Boyer Quay in Ivry-sur-Seine, in order to limit road transport in favour of river navigation.
Seine Aval water purification plant
Eiffage Génie Civil is taking part in modernizing Seine Aval water treatment plant (78). This 800-hectare facility treats 70% of Paris urban area’s waste water, totalling 1.5 million m3 per year.
Ariane 6 launch pad
France’s National Centre for Space Study (CNES) has chosen Eclair6, the consortium led by Eiffage Génie Civil, to carry out infrastructure work for the Ariane 6 launch site ELA4 in the Space Centre in French Guiana. The lot comprises all the ELA4 structures, including the launch pad and its two flues, mobile gantry (6,000 tonnes and 90 metres high) and the Vehicle Assembly Building. These works involve the deployment of 60,000 m³ of concrete, 7,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement, 400,000 m³ of earthworks and 7,500 tonnes of metal framework.
Brittany – Pays de la Loire HSL
This HSL known as “BPL” was constructed as part of a 25-year public-private partnership contract signed on 28 July 2011 between RFF and Eiffage’s dedicated subsidiary Eiffage Rail Express (ERE). This project to extend the existing HSL between Paris and Connerré (20 km east of Le Mans) mainly involved building 182 km of new line to significantly improve access to western France, bringing Rennes to under an hour and a half from Paris. Most of the layout, including earthworks, sanitation, engineering structures and rail track, was constructed by Eiffage’s teams, all trades combined.
Dakar-Diamniadio-AIBD Motorway
The Avenir motorway is the first PPP in Sub-Saharan Africa, the first link of the Dakar-Diamniadio motorway and the first toll motorway in West Africa. Via this partnership, the Senegalese government entrusted Eiffage with the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of a first stretch between Dakar and Diamniadio. Eiffage Génie Civil took part in building this 25.5 km infrastructure enabling a significant reduction in travel time from 2 hours to 30 minutes.
This 30-year contract was completed by a 25-year contract to extend the motorway to Blaise Diagne International Airport, covering financing, design, construction and operation. With this 14 km stretch commissioned in October 2016, the Avenir motorway now links the centre of Dakar to the new airport and Saly-Mbour tourist area.
Decathlon Arena Stadium Pierre-Mauroy
Decathlon Arena Stadium Pierre-Mauroy in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, originally known as the Grand Stade Lille Métropole (GSLM), is a unique urban engineering structure. The building has a capacity of 50,000 in stadium mode, and can be transformed into a 25,000-seat showcase venue in just 24 hours, by means of an exclusive, ground-breaking system whereby the northern half of the pitch is designed to lift up and slide over the southern half. The mobile roof can open and shut in only 30 minutes. A giant screen on the stadium's outside envelope facing the esplanade enables live transmission of matches and competitions.

Perpignan-Figueras HSL
The 44.4 km Perpignan-Figueras high-speed line (HSL) crosses the French-Spanish border between France and Spain via the 8.3-kilometre Perthus tunnel under the Pyrenees. This ground-breaking new line can accommodate both high-speed trains (TGV) travelling at 350 km/h and freight convoys at 120 km/h – a “mix” that is a first for this type of infrastructure.
A24 Motorway - Viseu to Chaves
This 155 km infrastructure linking Viseu and Chaves involved over 6 years’ work. During this time, 26 million cubic metres of earth were excavated and 130 engineering structures built, including Corgo and Vila Pouca de Aguiar viaducts (of which the second is the longest on the line).
